Methodology and limitations
CORIA is a kitchen companion: a scan, the evidence behind it, and the pantry, shopping list, alternatives and recipes it leads into. Every one of those surfaces is built on product records, label evidence, deterministic checks and AI-assisted interpretation, and none of them can be better than the evidence available for that product.
AI-assisted interpretation
AI may help structure and explain evidence. It must not invent missing ingredients, prove allergen absence or override deterministic safety rules.
Environmental and ethical signals
These results can rely on category-level factors, estimates or incomplete ownership data. They are decision-support signals, not audited product certifications.
Freshness and personalization
Locale, account tier and safety-relevant preferences can change the result. Cached or older evidence must not be treated as current without validation.

CORIA may combine open product data with environmental reference data. A source can be missing, stale or incomplete, so no source card is a guarantee about a specific product.

CORIA should distinguish evidence from uncertainty, and carry that distinction into the pantry, the shopping list and the alternatives list rather than resolving it into a verdict. During beta, some product surfaces are still being aligned to this contract.
Evidence supports the result
The available record contains evidence relevant to the displayed conclusion. This is not the same as a guarantee.
Caution or possible conflict
The evidence contains a relevant warning or a possible conflict with a preference you declared.
Unknown or unavailable
The evidence is missing, incomplete, stale or cannot establish the conclusion. Unknown must never be read as safe or zero.
Current limitations
- Product coverage and ingredient completeness vary by country and source.
- CORIA does not review may-contain evidence for you; the package label is authoritative for cross-contamination.
- Vegan and allergen evidence may require manual label verification.
- Environmental values may be estimates, category proxies or unavailable.
- Ethical and ownership information can change and may be incomplete.
- Alternatives and recipes are premium, and premium is not on sale during the closed beta.
- Network, cache and upstream-service conditions can affect freshness and availability.
For allergies, celiac disease or other health-critical decisions, always read the current package label and follow professional medical guidance.
Closed beta means features, wording and limits may change as validation continues. A successful scan or app build is not a certification of every product journey.
